Here are a few upcoming events for the more literary among us:
At the Robertson Library, on Wednesday, November 16th, parents and teachers can attend a 4:30 PM afternoon tea. This special event, offers tea and sweets with the librarians of the Robertson Branch. They’ll teach you about the free treats this branch of the L.A. library has to offer: online resources, e-books and e-media, as well as an online tutoring service! The Robertson Library is located at the southwest corner of Robertson and Airdrome.
[ALOUD] literary events are mostly are held at either the Mark Taper Forum or at Vibiana in Downtown L.A. Writers are interviewed by other writers, book critics, or radio personalities, then guide a Q & A session and book signing. [ALOUD] events are generally free.
This week’s [ALOUD] event:
On November 16th, the writer Joan Didion will discuss both her current work and what it was like living among the cultural elite in 1960s Los Angeles. Advance tickets are sold out, but a few will be released the night of the event if you don’t mind “flying standby.” Show up early to this event at VIBIANA (on 214 S.
