My eldest child insists that I list the park we visited today: Linnie Canal Park. Located in Venice at the intersection of Dell Avenue and one of the canals, this teeny-tiny park has toddler-friendly playground equipment and a little duck pond that my kids loved.

However, there is little shade and no “big kid” swings in Linnie Canal Park. If you live outside the area, it’s not worthy of a special trip. On the other hand, if you are touring the canals in Venice with a child in a stroller, like we were, this park will give you the welcome opportunity to let your tot loose to stretch her legs.

In case this park doesn’t suit you, I just found this great resource: the park finder at the L.A. Parks Foundation website.

You can search by amenities available, zip code, or park name. There are lots of photos of most parks, descriptions, and maps available. The site can be accessed in English or Spanish.
