On this coming Sunday, September 25, 2011, you’ll find the 8th Annual Rods, Rides & Relics Classic Car Show on the Pier in Redondo Beach. We went last year and our children (both boys and girls) loved the amazing cars on display–over 80! The event allows vehicles to display by invitation only, so each and every one was a gem. The kids even got to climb into a Model T! My favorite was an actual Helms Bakery delivery truck from over 50 years ago.

10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

100 Fishermans Wharf, Redondo Beach, CA 90277

The pier is home to many restaurants that serve “beach food”–seafood, cotton candy, ice cream, and the like. There’s also an arcade and a great kite shop that you might take advantage of to extend the visit after the car show.

And, best of all, the event is free! However, be prepared to drive around and pay for parking if you arrive in the afternoon.
