The LA County Fair will begin Labor Day weekend and run all month long. The fair is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, except for Labor Day itself. Live music, rides, livestock, gardening and gadgets make this a fun and lively activity for the family, but the event can prove expensive ($17/$12 at the gate. The best ways to cut back on the cost is to:
1) Donate a new or gently used book! Free admission Thursdays, noon-6 p.m., with a donation of a new or gently used book for kids to be donated for charity.
2) Make  a group  of at least 20 ADULTS, an you can pay just $10/adult, $6/child. (Kids 5 and under are free.) http://www.lacountyfair.com/2011/planyourvisit/advanceSales.asp
