For those recreational shoppers out there, my friend Sharon S. pointed out this interactive map:

This fabulous map designates all the various shopping districts–the toy district, the fashion district, the produce district, etc.–available downtown here in L.A. You can find enormous bargains on both brand-name and generic clothes, housewares, flowers (great for parties, weddings, and holidays), etc. Parking can be crazy expensive and hard to find downtown, so I’d recommend hopping on a bus or the subway to head out on your expedition. Even if you aren’t a die-hard bargain hunter, the lively and colorful atmosphere is worth the visit.

Happy hunting!
